Traditionally, tabi kohaze are made of metal, but you can also make them from a PP (polypropylene) sheet.
You can cut it with scissors and sew it on a machine, and it’s strong enough. Plus, you can buy it at a 100-yen shop!

Enlarged, it looks like this.

Sew a straight stitch along the dotted line and stitch it onto the tabi.
Using a thicker sewing machine needle makes it less likely to break.
If you want it in PDF format, it’s included in the Tabi PDF. Download the PDF here.
Printing Tips

After printing, cut it out like this.

Tape it onto a PP sheet with clear tape.

Remove the pattern, and you’re done.

Insert the thick end of the kohaze into the seam allowance of the tabi, then stitch it down with a straight stitch on your sewing machine.
