The finished product uses lightweight denim for the outer fabric.

While it works well as a light coat in early spring or autumn, it can also be made suitable for the depths of winter by changing to a thicker material such as wool.

The lining features a carp and cherry blossom pattern.

When hung on a hanger after tailoring, the pattern peeks out from the inside, adding to its visual appeal.

The lining of the front and sleeves uses a smooth polyester material. A calm gray color is used to harmonize with the patterned areas.

The sleeves are designed as boat-shaped sleeves to comfortably accommodate kimono sleeves.

While square sleeves offer more volume, they can be heavy and bulky due to the fabric thickness. Boat-shaped sleeves provide a clean silhouette and a light, comfortable feel.

The front opening uses snap buttons.

This eliminates the need to create buttonholes, lowering the difficulty of tailoring, but you can create buttonholes and change to regular buttons if you prefer.

A center vent has been added to the back hem.

While it's common for traditional Japanese coats to have gussets at the sides or slits on the sides, this coat incorporates features from Western-style coats, using a center vent to balance ease of movement and aesthetics.
