A. The lining of a haori is called a ha-ura.
Even if it doesn't have any color or pattern, it's functionally warm and slippery.
It's not visible from the outside, so being particular about the pattern is mostly a matter of personal fashion.
Still, we sometimes show it off when we have the opportunity to take off our haori and put it on.
Men usually tend to choose more subdued outer fabrics, so it's fun to take this opportunity to wear a bold color or pattern.
