An artist/blacksmith called Ron Liley who lives in Granity on the West Coast where there are many artists.

Blacksmiths use coal to work with steel. They need a lot of coal because they heat steel over burning coal, make it pliable and then shape it.
On the West Coast there are good supplies of the particular kind of coal that is used for blacksmithing, which along with the historical connections to the area, help to make "The Coast" an ideal place to continue the traditions and develop the possibilities of this field.

Ron Liley is one of the best blacksmiths on the West Coast. He makes candle sticks, coat hooks, paper towel holders and towel rails among other things. He teaches blacksmithing as well.
